Recently I was asked by some friends and I was in a hurry. I originally thought that there were a lot of Netflix tutorials on the Internet to answer. But I still underestimated everyone’s determination to “get to the bottom of things.” In order to avoid repeated output as much as possible, the following content is mostly intended for friends who do not know Netflix and are hesitant to subscribe.
Have you watched "Zhou Chu Eliminates Three Evils"?
How many of my friends have heard this story before. Um... I'm talking about Zhou Chu in "Shishuoxinyu". If there are friends who are entering the "primary age" like me, would they have had the same experience as a child: they would not let go of every piece of paper with writing on it in the house, just to pass the time. That's when I read Zhou Chu's story.
After the movie was released, under the influence of Douyin, the long-lost memories came to my mind. But the screens of nearby theaters were occupied by "Hot" and "Speed Life 2", so I thought about waiting a little longer. Unexpectedly, I received an email from Netflix:
Then I happily added it to my playlist, after all, collecting it means watching it.
Okay, I’m done with my idle talk and let’s get to the point.
Regarding whether or not to watch Netflix, I hope the following content can help you.
1. What is the difference between Netflix and Pumpkin Movies?
A critical attack at the beginning! I found out about this so-called streaming media platform targeting Netflix in China after searching after being asked. When I heard the name, I subconsciously thought it was an aggregated media like low-end film and television. There are others who want to compare Aiyouteng and Netdisk. To this, I can only say that there is no comparison of pros and cons. There are only differences in viewing habits. Don't create demand.
2. Does Netflix have many Chinese films?
There are definitely not as many as English ones. But there are also many popular movies. For example, the recently released "Zhou Chu Eliminates Three Evils", my son's favorite "Speeding Life", others such as "The Wandering Earth", Stephen Chow's movies, etc. And there are also some popular dramas starring Yang Zi and Dilireba. Forgive me for not being able to remember the names no matter how hard I watch them.
I found a set of data:
| country / region | Number of movies | Number of TV series |
| USA | 5879 | 1844 |
| Japan | 3792 | 1292 |
| Taiwan, China | about 2000 | —— |
However, most Netflix dramas have Chinese subtitles, which does not affect viewing.
3. Are Netflix contents the same in different countries?
Recently, Netflix has tightened risk control, and accounts in low-price regions such as Pakistan, Turkey, and Egypt have been seriously cleared. In order to ensure the stability of the dispatch, it is recommended that sub-accounts use the same country or region IP. Is the Netflix content in these countries the same?
It depends, but in most cases there will be differences. Because Netflix dramas have different copyrights, there are several situations:
- Self-produced drama: Netflix’s own production
- Non-homemade drama: Netflix purchases third-party rights
When we talk about whether an IP can unblock Netflix, there are several situations:
- No service provided: Such as China, North Korea, Syria, etc.;
- Homemade drama unlocked: Usually there is no restriction, even if the computer room IP can be viewed normally;
- Unlocking non-homemade dramas: Only residential (native) IP can be viewed, both VPN and airport use data center IP;
- Region unlocking: If the same film is available in country A but not in country S, it is usually due to copyright issues: either there is no local copyright; or the distribution rights are monopolized by competitors;
- Relaxed copyright: Some videos have no copyright restrictions, so they can be viewed around the world;
Therefore, whether you can watch a movie is not just a matter of changing the country/IP. There may be many factors that affect it.
4. How to check whether your network supports streaming media such as Netflix?
If you still don't know how to use the two codes after reading the instructions, just give up. It's better to log in to Netflix's official website directly.

5. How fast is the internet speed required to watch 4K videos on Netflix?
This is the reference given by Netflix’s official website:
| Video quality | Resolution | Recommended speed |
| High definition (HD) | 720p | 3 Mbps or faster |
| Full High Definition (FHD) | 1080p | 5 Mbps or faster |
| Ultra High Definition (UHD) | 4K | 15 Mbps or faster |
A reminder to friends who are new to Netflix: By default, Netflix video resolution is adapted in real time based on network speed and cannot be adjusted manually. If the network conditions are average, even 4K account videos may be reduced to 720P or even lower. (See question 7 for adjustment methods)
6. How can I test the network speed for watching Netflix?
You can open the official Netflix speed test website: fast.com
For example, my speed is:
This is the speed of my home bandwidth, but it is not the upper limit of the node. The instantaneous speed reaches more than 400M.
Also remind: Waiting for Internet peak hours at night or on weekends will test the Internet node you are using. Hope you are mentally prepared.
7. How much data is needed to watch Netflix every month?
The amount of data consumed per hour for watching 4K videos varies depending on the video's bitrate, encoding format, and viewing device. Generally speaking, it is 7G/hour. The corresponding relationship between bit rate and traffic is usually as follows:
| Bit rate (Mbps) | Traffic (GB) |
| 15 | 5.25 |
| 20 | 7 |
| 25 | 8.75 |
If you want to reduce the amount of traffic you use, you can refer to Netflix's official help:

8. If the login fails, does it mean that the account and password are incorrect?
Friends who live together may encounter this situation. Although the account number and password are correct, the message "Password is wrong" appears. This is most likely due to node issues. Usually after changing the residential IP that can unlock Netflix, you can log in normally.
Don't ask me how I know, because I'm used to it because I encounter it often.
9. When you have problems watching Netflix, it’s probably a network problem
As title
I remember when I was writing the Apple TV software article, I mentioned "Only when you have money and time can you enjoy leisure”, including Netflix. Like Apple TV, if you want to truly experience the audio-visual experience brought by streaming media such as Netflix, you must not only have a paid account and a stable network. There is also a potential prerequisite, which is Hardware devices that support a complete movie-watching experience.
Netflix movies usually have three features: 4K, Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos, which is a bit of a test of the equipment on hand.
Finally, I still want to advertise. If you want to sign up for Netflix yourself, read this:

If you want to carpool, my account still has a parking space, add WeChat:

Okay, if you find it useful, just click on the ad, coding is not easy.
