It's been a while since I shared the free series. This time, let's talk about a shared host: a CPU with 16 cores and 32 threads, 128G of memory, a 1T hard disk, a domestic delay of only 200ms during the evening peak (Beijing Mobile), and an IP purity value of around 30. This looks like a very good and powerful host.

On the weekend, I happened to see a blogger sharing a tutorial about this console on a YouTube channel, so I simply gave it a try.

Let me first talk about my personal experience: it is unnecessary, troublesome, unsafe, so don’t force it.

Next, I will share the operation process and personal test data of obtaining a VPS. I guess those who are still interested will not take action.

1. VPS test data

See video

The data is very impressive. If you think it is good, you can take a look at the application method.

II. Application Process

1. Register Discord

If you don't have a Discord account, create one

2. Enter the KubicSystems channel

URL:https://discord.gg/vpsses

3. Application Method

bot-commands

Type: /deploy

Enter password/system version

You can get the IP and several assigned ports

Then use the ssh tool to log in to the management

3. Network speed and other tests

When seeing free VPS, many people probably think of surfing the Internet first.

Then I will first talk about the upstream and downstream speeds of this VPS during the domestic evening peak and daily.

1. Internet speed test

First is the weekend evening rush hour:

The delay is about 210ms, the download speed is about 0.1~1m, and the upload speed is about 70~80M.

The actual experience is: the web page is opened quickly, but it is basically impossible to watch videos. I guess many people are making similar videos. But the uplink bandwidth is basically not used, so even in the evening peak, it can still be used to upload data.

Around 7:00 on weekdays:

The delay is about 200ms, the maximum download speed can reach 580M, and the upload speed is still between 70 and 80M.

It can do anything, but it is unstable.

2. IP location/purity

The IP location is in Oregon, USA, the data center IP, and the purity is currently around 30. If it continues to be free at this rate, abuse is inevitable.

Therefore, it seems better to use it for business testing.

3. Resource usage

I'm not sure how many people share this server's resources, and the CPU/memory usage is always around 80%. So, the server configuration looks high, but when you divide it among individuals, the experience is just average. I don't feel it's much better than those cheap VPS.

4. Data security

This kind of high-end shared host with "unknown origin" is more like a waste for individual users.

First, from the perspective of data security, it is not recommended to perform any sensitive data operations, including account login, shopping payment, etc.; secondly, the host life is also difficult to guarantee, so it cannot be used as a "fire" for surfing the Internet; finally, without a stable personal data space, long-term data testing cannot be performed.

In summary, this type of high-end shared hosting may be used for learning or testing code. Even if you frequently install or delete code, you will not feel bad about disrupting the normal environment. So I still hold this view: choosing a cheap VPS, self-built is always better than free.

Okay, that’s all. If you find it useful, please follow it.
