Pixel 5G Tutorial: No root/DSU required, supports random reboots and dual eSIM cards, and detailed ADB operation guide

Preface: Farewell to DSU, and welcome to "permanent" 5G

For Pixel users who cannot unlock OEM, the previous method of relying on DSU to obtain 5G signal is neither stable nor supports dual SIM. Now, a new method from the Cool An community, through ADB commands, can allow us to achieve aRebootable, dual-SIM supported, no root requiredA "permanent" 5G solution. After more than ten days of stable use, I personally verified it and would like to share it with you.

This tutorial involves using ADB to modify system settings. While root is not required, it still carries unknown risks and may cause unexpected issues. Chapter 1: Preparation

1. PC: Install ADB

• Windows: You can download the folder containing the ADB tool I provided and run the CMD directly.
• macOS: It is recommended to install it via Homebrew.
  Homebrew is a very popular package manager on macOS that allows you to easily install and manage various development tools. If you haven't installed Homebrew yet, it is recommended to install it first.
  Step 1: Install Homebrew (if not already installed)
  Open the Terminal application (you can find it in Applications -> Utilities), then copy and paste the following command and press Enter to execute it:
  /bin/bash -c "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/HEAD/install.sh)"
  The installation process may require you to enter your computer password. Just follow the prompts.
  Step 2: Install ADB via Homebrew
  After installing Homebrew, enter the following command in the terminal:
  brew install --cask android-platform-tools
  Homebrew will automatically download and configure it for you adb and fastboot and other tools.
  Step 3: Verify the installation
  After the installation is complete, enter the following command in the terminal to verify whether ADB is installed successfully:
  adb version
  If you see version information output similar to the following, it means the installation was successful!

2. Mobile phone: Enable debugging mode

1. Go to "Settings" -> "About Phone", tap "Build Number" repeatedly to turn on "Developer Options".
2. Go to "Developer Options" and turn on "USB debugging" and "Wireless debugging".

Chapter 2: [Practical Tutorial] Five Steps to Enable Permanent 5G

Step 1: Connect your phone and verify ADB

Connect your phone to your computer via a USB cable. Enter the command line (CMD/Terminal) on your computer: adb devices, if your device serial number appears, it means the connection is successful.

Step 2: Delete carrier information (ADB)

In the command line on your computer, execute the following command to uninstall Google Carrier Services:

adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.google.android.carrier

Should return after execution Success.

Step 3: Enable VoLTE (Shizuku + Pixel IMS)

1. Install and activate on your phone Shizuku App (via wireless debugging).
2. Install and open Pixel IMS App (download from GitHub), it will automatically obtain Shizuku authorization.
3. Click Refresh and check the box for your SIM card Enable VoLTE And other basic options.

Step 4: Restore carrier settings (ADB)

Return to the computer command line and execute the following command:

adb shell settings put global carrier_settings_module_package_name com.android.phone

Step 5: Modify IMS Configuration (Pixel IMS Expert Mode)

1. Return to your phone and open Pixel IMS App, select your SIM card.
2. Enter the bottom Expert Mode.
3. In the search box, enter nr_availability.
4. Find and click on the carrier_nr_availabilities_int_array 's entry.
5. Core operations: Make sure that there is 1 and 2 Two values. If missing 2, please add it; if it already exists 2,It is recommended to delete first 2 Add it again.
6. After modifying or adding a value, first click the small check mark (✓) next to the valueSave the single item, and then click on the bottomClick Confirm to save all changes.

After completing the above steps, your mobile phone signal should become 5G, and this status will remain after restarting and turning on dual SIM cards.

Appendix: Rumors about "locked phones becoming unlocked"

There have been recent rumors in the community that a low-level vulnerability has been discovered in Pixel phones, potentially allowing locked phones to be permanently unlocked. Users of locked phones should pay more attention to updates in related forums.
