There are many tutorials and videos on the Internet about unlocking 5G for pixel phones.

The most common practice is: root the phone first, then install magisk, and finally flash the corresponding 5G module; or root the phone first, then flash the corresponding version of the baseband, or install the Network Signal Master app to unlock the 5G signal.

But no matter which method you use, there is a prerequisite, which is that the phone needs to be rooted first.

However, I personally don't like rooting my phone. First, after the phone is rooted, it will be detected by Google and the use of AI functions will be restricted. There have been relevant news reports in this regard. Secondly, after the phone is rooted, there are various inconveniences in updating the system. If you are not careful, you will encounter bricking, endless restarts, etc.

At present, most of the online information about the latest Google phone, pixel 9, which can unlock 5G without root, still uses pixel 8 and other phones as examples. Some of them are clickbait, saying that it can unlock 5G without root, but in fact it is to use pixel ims to unlock VoLTE network HD calls.

In the Kuaik forum, there are tutorials on how to unlock 5G without root, but they are basically in the comments and replies of the big guys.

So, after practical verification, I made this video, hoping it will be helpful to friends who have just bought a pixel 9 phone.

I would like to emphasize that this method does not require root or downloading third-party software, you can just operate it directly.

So let's start now -

After finishing the video, I added some information based on netizens’ comments:

  • System version: AP4A.250105.002, which is the latest version when making the video
  • Will 5G be restored: Just after I finished making the video, I deleted DSU and 5G changed back to LTE; then I redid it and deleted DSU again. It has been about a week now and the 5G signal is normal.

That's all the information for now, feel free to add more.
