Chapter 1: Selection and Data Center Selection

RackNerd offers multiple data center options (Los Angeles, San Jose, Chicago, etc.).

• Ping value test results:
  • Los Angeles (DC-02/03): With a latency of approximately 200ms, it exhibits the most stable performance.
  • San Jose: The latency is approximately 200ms, which is comparable to Los Angeles.
  • Chicago/Dallas/New York: The latency is high (240ms+) and fluctuates greatly.
• in conclusion: For domestic users,Los Angeles is the first choice.

Money-saving tips:

Alipay payment is supported. During my test, Alipay gave me a random discount of 4 RMB, bringing the final price to approximately 69 RMB. Double Data Usage: New users can submit a ticket to customer service to request double their data usage (2TB -> 4TB).

Chapter 2: Performance and Streaming Media Detection (Merge Monster Script)

• Hardware performance: For a $10 machine, the CPU and memory read/write performance are average, and the hard drive read/write is acceptable (solid-state drive). I rejected the "diamond drive" (a drive with extremely slow read/write speed).
• Streaming unlock: It was a terrible sight.Disney+ and Netflix are almost completely down, but ChatGPT is usable. Since it's a data center IP, don't get your hopes up.
• IP Quality: High risk level, typical of data center IPs.

Chapter 3: Node Setup and Speed Testing (VLESS vs HY2)

I used "Yong Ge's" Sing-box script to set up VLESS and Hysteria2 (HY2) nodes and tested them in daytime (non-peak hours) conditions with a 500M mobile broadband connection.

• VLESS: Download App 350 MbpsUpload speed was approximately 94 Mbps.
• Hysteria2 (HY2): Download App 300 Mbps.
• Tips to avoid pitfalls: When using the v2rayN client,The HY2 protocol has a default bandwidth limit of 100M.You need to manually change it to 1000M in the "Parameter Settings", otherwise the speed test will be stuck at around 90M.

Summary: Worth the price

$10/year At the price, it has 1GB of memory and 2TB of traffic, and can run at full 300M bandwidth (during the day).Extremely high cost performance.

• advantage: It's cheap, has a large data allowance, supports Alipay, and the Los Angeles line is acceptable.
• shortcoming: Traffic congestion is possible during the evening rush hour, streaming media unlocking is poor, and IP quality is generally average.
• suggestion: Suitable for use as a backup node, for running traffic, or in conjunction with a preferred IP.
