Hello, hello, hello, everyone!

This isOverseas mobile phone cardIn this sixth installment, we'll talk about Kitesim, a product that offers both SMS reception and low-cost native IP data traffic to multiple countries and regions worldwide.

If you've read my previous guide to using dual eSIM Pixel phones in China, you'll know that I mentioned an idea: using a native UK IP address to activate China Telecom's cost-effective CTExcel SIM card launched in the UK.

Therefore, in this video, we will verify whether kitesim's phone number can be used to register overseas apps, and whether the overseas native IP it provides can activate CTExcel, which has relatively strict network environment requirements.

I. Kitesim Basic Operations

For Kitesim, I recommend that after registering on the web version, you download the software from the app store and then perform all related operations.

For iPhone users, search for "Kitesim" in the App Store. I'll put the website address and the download link for the Android APK in the video details or comments section.

My impression is that it directly converts H5 pages into iOS and Android applications.

There's no need to worry too much about payments. Kitesim primarily supports Alipay and Hong Kong Alipay, which is quite user-friendly for mainland China users.

II. Mobile phone number

Kitesim's phone numbers currently support three countries and one region: Hong Kong, the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.

The phone number is displayed in the app, which is why I recommend downloading the app.

Its mobile number can only be used to receive text messages, so I will use a Hong Kong mobile number to register for Telegram and Google to see if it will be successful.

Video Demonstration

As you can see, mobile phone numbers can be used to register for various overseas services.

As for the price of keeping the number, it can't be said to be too cheap.

We should view Kitesim as a way to quickly obtain mobile phone numbers for specific countries and regions.

If price is your primary concern, then you'll need to put more effort into searching and comparing.

III. Native IP Traffic

Clearly, unlike eSIM products such as Redteago and Eskimo, Kitesim's data plan emphasizes a differentiated multi-country native IP address. Especially for users in mainland China, when using eSIM data, the IP address is no longer a mystery, limited to Hong Kong or Singapore. Instead, users can freely choose from 10 specific countries and regions, such as Hong Kong, Taiwan, the United States, Singapore, the United Kingdom, Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, and Canada.

Small data plans like 365 days and 15GB of native IP data over a long period are perfect for "cloud residents" who seek digital identity compliance.

Of course, native IP technology requires manual modification of the APN. Unlike other eSIM products that can be used immediately by scanning a QR code, it requires manually filling in the APN server information. This also brings some inconvenience.

Next, I will use Kitesim's UK data plan to try activating China Telecom's UK SIM card CTExcel to verify the quality of the native IP.

3.1 CTExcel Activation Threshold

Activating CTExcel using a UK-native IP address in mainland China is inherently risky. While many bloggers have personally verified that it works without problems, if you can't accept the risks, there's no need to try this card in mainland China. After all, there are good alternative plans available in Hong Kong and Macau.

I was originally considering using roaming data from giffgaff or Lebara to activate it, but since Kitesim is available, its plans are obviously more cost-effective.

3.2 CTExcel Activation Process

1. Purchase and activate the package

We'll first place an order for a data plan, choosing the UK version.

Next, we'll scan the QR code to install eSIM. If your phone doesn't support eSIM, you'll need to buy an eSIM write-in card.

If there is no signal after installation, check the APN settings and select a configuration file that starts with 3.

Once you have a signal, you will receive a text message instructing you on how to configure the APN; for example, mine is written to mb.iot.

Then we switch the APN settings, so the IP becomes a native UK IP.

We can have Gemini assess the quality of this IP.

A simple speed test

Finally, here's a little trick that you probably won't see on other bloggers: by switching APNs, you can essentially have two IPs with one plan: one from Hong Kong, China, and the other from the UK.

It might be a great help when you need to register and access the internet using a Hong Kong IP address.

2. Activate CTExcel

The next step is to activate CTExcel.

I bought this CTExcel SIM card late, only having time to pay attention to it after eSIM was discontinued. I originally thought there would be a function to convert physical cards to eSIM in the system, but... there isn't! I'll chat with customer service when I have time to see if I can find a workaround.

First, we need to turn on our mobile hotspot to share Kitesim's UK data allowance. I was initially worried that the carrier might block the hotspot, but thankfully everything went smoothly.

Next, we connected to Wi-Fi, turned off location services, turned on airplane mode, and then inserted the CTExcel SIM card.

Here's a little trick: to prevent your phone from connecting to the wrong Wi-Fi network when airplane mode is off, you can ignore all the Wi-Fi networks you're already connected to and leave only Kitesim's hotspot.

Then just wait for a signal.

I'm using an iPhone X, and when I turn on Wi-Fi calling, the phone number doesn't show up. But it does show up on my iPhone 17 Pro Max.

Once you have a signal, you'll receive an email with your username and password using the email address you used to register for CTExcel. This will allow you to log in to the system backend.

The first time you log in, you will be asked to change your password. Just follow the instructions.

If everything goes smoothly, you should be able to see your plan in the backend. As you can see, my plan was activated on January 21st.

That would normally be the end.

However, I'm not sure if it's a problem with my plan or incomplete activation, but my CTExcel SIM card has some minor issues after enabling Wi-Fi framing:

You can access the internet normally. As you can see, the network is British Telecommunications, which is the British version of China Telecom, a top-tier home broadband line.

You can also receive calls and text messages from giffgaff...

However, I just can't make calls or send text messages... In addition, I can't receive official text messages from CTExcel...

I don't understand the reason yet, and I'm thinking of waiting 10 days to see if the plan is still available. I've already answered giffgaff's call, so I should have a UK call record. If I can make another call, everything will be perfect.

Okay, in summary, Kitesim has some very distinct features. It offers the ability to quickly obtain phone numbers to receive SMS messages, and also provides low-cost native IP addresses that can be specified for a particular country. However, considering data security, I suggest using it as a stepping stone to obtain other overseas tools, and cautiously viewing it as a long-term asset for holding overseas phone numbers.

To reiterate, there are various shortcuts to obtaining phone numbers and native IP addresses. However, the first priority is to have your own core user base. Going from 0 to 1 is indeed difficult, but without that "1," no matter how good other tools are, they are all "0."

For instance, any time new generations of processors are brought to the market, there is usually a matching increase in the shape preferences of all computer system memory plus hard drive space. This is because the software program operated by way of these processor chips will inevitably boost in power to benefit from the new technological innovation.

One can set up two RAM memory boards of 1GB each, for example, but not certainly one of 1GB and one having 2GB. One should always check the manufacturer's documentation for the PC to be certain what type of memory space is necessary.

  10. I have realized that of all different types of insurance, health insurance is the most controversial because of the conflict between the insurance plan company's necessity to remain adrift and the customer's need to have insurance cover. Insurance companies' profits on overall health plans are incredibly low, thus some businesses struggle to generate income. Thanks for the ideas you share through this website.

You can buy them directly from the seller, or from third party places if they are designed for your notebook computer, however not all laptop can have a spend on the market.
